Valentino has succumbed to the pressure put on him by his enemy, Max Biaggi, but recovered from an off-track visit, at one point nine seconds behind the other riders, to overtake seven bikes! Something that is only within reach of a genius like him. Valentinos fight with himself was the best of a race that Biaggi had wrapped up seven laps from the end. Behind him in a dogfight were Sete, Hayden and Makoto Tamada, who sought a triumph that he could dedicate to his compatriot Daijiro Kato. Rossi caught up at the rate of half a second per lap, but the duel between Sete, Hayden and Tamada made him los time and Biaggi made the most of it to get away from them all. The judgesconsidered thatthe Japanese riders manoeuvre was illegal and so he was disqualified. ThereforeHayden wasthird, his first everpodium inMotoGP andSete fourth.

250cc

Toni Elas was almost as good in 250cc although Manuel Poggialis third place took the shine off the victory. Toni Elas has had a perfect weekend; pole, victory and new track record and he has reduced his disadvantage with respect to the man from San Marino by seven points who did not want to be in a struggle with Rolfo. There are 75 points left to fight for, Poggiali now has 18 more than the Honda rider and 30 more than Elas.

125cc

The 125cc race has followed this seasons script for the category, with nothing decided right up to the finishing line. Hctor Barber came out of his battle with Stoner and Dovizioso victorious, and Pedrosa went ffrom leader to sixth after losing a lead of three seconds because of a broken nut on his bikes steering damper. Perugini finished ahead of him (4th), but Dani still has a good chance of winning the title as he still has a lead of 39 points in the general. Bad luck accompanied Jorge Lorenzo again; with tyhree laps left, in fourth position, he fell and was out of the points.
