The Nelson Piquet circuit is located in Jacarepagu�. just 20km from downtown Rio and three kilometres from the coast.It was built between 1975/1977. It hosted its first MotoGP race in 1977 (Brazilian National Championship).It is 4.933 metres long. It also has one of the longest straight lines of the World Championship calendar: 1.100 metres.
