The result of the Rio GP was curious. In MotoGP Tamada won, whereas the Championship leaders Gibernau and Rossi ended up on the floor, although fortunately without any physical consequences. It is very strange to see two pilots so sure of the themselves making errors of this type, but the positive reading is that the championship is very open because Rossi and Gibernau continue to be tied on points and Biaggi, second in Rio, is getting a lot closer to the leadership. With so many races left anything can happen. Apart from this, there was an all round good balance of Spanish riders. Victory for an impeccable Barber in 125cc, a podium finish for Pedrosa, who is the new leader of the World Championship, and by Elas in 250cc, and Gibernau is still in first position in MotoGP. The Brazilian race was once again entertaining and exciting in all categories, mainly in 125cc, and the sensation, which is becoming more and more real, that maybe this year there will be more world titles. The next race will be on a radically different circuit. Todays circuit was quick and wide. The next, in Germany, is slow and veered. This will be a new chance to consolidate leaderships.
