Carlos Checa has made sure that he has a competitive machine next season. The Honda LCR team, managed by the Italian Lucio Cecchinello has decided to sign him for next year. The veteran Spanish rider will now race for a team that is competitive after riding for one of the worst teams in the championship this year. In spite of this fact Checas results have not been too bad.
The Spanish rider is pleased with his new contract and he was also happy with the fact that other teams were interested in signing him. The possibility of riding for Cecchinellos team arose after the Portuguese GP, and in the end this one was the best offer. Checa thinks that he can get good results next year because he will ride a good motorbike next season.
The signing of the Spaniard is not the only news at Honda LCR. The team has contracted Eugene Laverty for the 250cc category, an Irish rider. Casey Stoner was the star of the team this season but it seems that next year he will race for Ducati, although the agreement is still not official. It will probably be made public at the end of the Comunidad Valenciana GP. |
