Sebastin Portos adaptation to the Aprilia was reflected in the times that the Argentine set at the Valencian circuit. Porto was the fastest on both days, riding in pole position times; 136.1. Seven tenths of second behind him was his companion Fonsi Nieto, who was fourth behind Angelis and Poggiali, second and third respectively.

Rain made an appearance, the reason why the training session finished one hour before the scheduled time. Fonsi Nieto, was the rider who did most laps on these two days, a total of 161. After this test, the conclusions were very positive since both riders worked hard to set up the bikes, trying out different components and settings to get a better performance.

"After the good results at Jerez we needed to check that the response from the bike was the same at another circuit. And in effect, the valuation after this training session has been very positive. Here I have also managed to set a fast time and in addition to this, the understanding with the team and the bike is getting better and better. I am finding more and more differences with this bike and the Honda that I rode last year. On the last day, I did a race simulation and the conclusions from this test were good" said Porto.

On the other hand, Fonsi Nieto was satisfied: "Over these two days I concentrated on riding with different settings and tyres, but the most important for me was to get some kilometres under my belt so that I could get my feeling back after the winter break. In addition we have carried out many tests and made comparisons between the two bikes and the conclusions are very positive, since after the tests at Jerez I was not very satisfied". |
