Biaggi recognises Rossis efforts

Max Biaggi found himself beaten by Valentino Rossi in the first race of the season in South Africa, but he knows how to show respect for his compatriot and World Champion after a battle with no quarter given over 28 laps. Valentino won by only two tenths of a second.
"I was glad to see that when he took his helmet off, Valentino was sweating as much as me" Biaggi said with good humour. "It was not a bed of roses for either of us. I congratulate him because he rode a great race. I believe that our mutual respect after such a race is unquestionable and is above anything else".

The audience for this GP reached the figure of 12 million in Italy, a record that for certain will be repeated in Jerez de la Frontera. Both riders enjoyed the race and Biaggi celebrated his second position almost as if it were a victory. "When the race finished, I was speaking with my technicians who had done a fantastic job. It was my obligation and also a great pleasure to share that moment with them " explained Biaggi.

"I enjoyed this first race very much and I hope that there are many more like this throughout the year, but with the result being the opposite - said a smiling Max. We even configured the new material that Honda sent to us in only four hours, and the most important thing is that we understood it. I must mention the great work carried out by my team; it was the best way to remember Antonio Cobas ".
