Another bad start for Pablo Nieto
History repeats itself for Pablo Nieto, the Master Repsol Team rider. At Le Mans, just like at Jerez, he made a bad start, which made him fall back many positions. "I just stopped on the grid and a lot of other riders overtook me. I was in nineteenth position at the end of the first lap" said the smallest of the Nieto family. His commendable fightback later - he finished seventh - was not enough to satisfy him "It is not the result that I had hoped for. I will just have to do extra well in the next GP, where I will try to make the team happy ".
Xaus won his first points
Rubn Xaus got his first points in MotoGP after three races. A fall at the start of the race seemd to have ruined his chances but the DAntin MotoGP rider got back on his bike and because other riders retired he was 14th in the end, one lap behind the winner and received two points for his efforts. Xaus was satisfied with the work he did This weekend I have learnt a lot . Halfway through the race I started to feel comfortable on the bike and I saw that my times were not all that bad. And I am pleased that I finished.
Dovizioso beat Locatelli again
Andrea Dovizioso and Roberto Locatelli had exactly the same battle at Le Mans as they had a month before at Welkom. Both were together throughout the race and the victory went to he young Team Scot rider again. Dovizioso got into the lead after losing it to Jorge Lorenzo and Hctor Barber on the first few laps and he set a blistering pace which only the veteran Locatelli was able to withstand. In the end Dovizioso won and he is now strengthened at the top of the classification with 63 points, his nearest rival has 48, at least for the moment.
Hodgson broke two ribs
It was an unfortunate weekend for Neil Hodgson at Le Mans. The current World Superbikes Champion got mixed up in a fall with Norick Abe and John Hopkins and he fractured two ribs. The three of us fell and I think a bike hit my rib zone. It is now hurting quite a lot, but I have two weeks of rest and I hope to be ready for Mugello said the DAntin MotoGP rider who has no points after three races.
PSG, new sponsor for the Equipe GP de France
Equipe GP de France, who Arnaud Vincent and Grgory Lefort race for, appeared with a new sponsor at Le Mans. This is Paris Sant Germain, one of the most prestigious French football teams, whose name will be on both bikes all this season. This peculiar union is promoted by Francis Graille, chairman of PSG, who is a great fan of motor sports.
