|
Also known as parking brake. this is the braking system that keeps the car braked when a driver is not inside. It usually acts on the same system as the conventional brakes on the rear wheels. although some vehicles have disc brakes and use other independent pads. There are vehicles where the hand brake acts on the front wheels. This braking system is obligatory and has to work independently from to the main braking circuit. Their working is mechanical. generally by means of a cable.
