Global positioning Positioning System. This is a device for navigation using the reception of signals from satellites in the constellation Navstar put in orbit by the USA Department of Defence and which can be used by civil personnel (code CA) or military personnel (with the inclusion of the code P that is encrypted). It uses signals that are received from four satellites (to eliminate the errors in the signal propagation) and by means of mathematical calculations determines the point where the measurement originates.
