| Ground effect |
|
This consists of creating a vacuum in the lower part of the vehicle that stays on the ground. The lack of air squashes the vehicle and allows curves to be taken faster. This system appeared in Formula 1 invented by Colin Chapman on his Lotus 78. At the present time this system is only used in top sports vehicles.
