| Miller Cycle |

This is a variant of the Otto four stroke that allows the use of discharge compression relationships in a supercharged engine without any ignition problems. In a four stroke engine the compression relationship is limited by the existence of the ignition. Its operation differs from the Otto cycle in that it changes the moments of opening and closing for the exhaust valves. So. instead of delaying the admission closing it has advance. with which the temperature of the gases drops when undergoing expansion. and whcich prevents premature combustion taking place. as would happen in a conventional high compression engine.
