Monocoque
Currently cars are built on structures with panels welded to each other. known as monocoque chassis. The classic configuration of two beams joined by other smaller cross beams is hardly used nowadays. The monocoque chassis gives more active safety. because of its centre of gravity and torsional strength. and more passive safety because it absorbs the impacts better.

Monocoque chassis
This is a type of body structure very typical nowadays. It acts as a chassis and substitutes it. as it is reinforced in the zones where the mechanical parts are anchored. It is also known as self-supporting chassis.

Monograde
Oils whose index of viscosity vary considerably depending on the temperature. These oils must be changed if the temperature conditions vary (different seasons of the year for example).
