Additives
These are the natural or chemical elements that are added to a product to add or promote some required characteristics. They are used in products like lubricants. fuels. coolants liquids. etc.

Adherence
Capacity of a tyre to stay in contact with the road surface. without slipping and still transmitting power.

Admission
This is the cycle when the cylinder is filled with fuel. It is carried out while the admission valve is open and the piston goes down from its top dead centre (TDC) to bottom dead centre (BDC). The vacuum that the piston creates is transmitted via the admission channel and it takes in air from the atmosphere and puts it into the engine. In Otto engines the admission takes place with air and petrol. while in the diesel engines admission only takes place with air. The same thing happens in direct injection petrol engines.
