A type of differential used on four wheel drive vehicles to distribute the torque between the two axles. It distributes the forces independently of the speed of each axle. It is made up of three pairs of helicoidal gears that engage with each other on straight teeth at their ends. Its capacity of slip depends on the angle of the teeth. It can transmit more torque to the wheel that turns least on a curve.
