Self-levelling suspension
Type of suspension that maintains the height of the chassis constant with respect to the ground although the load conditions of the vehicle may vary. A hydraulic circuit is usually used or for electropneumatics via load sensors and pneumatic lungs that fill up to lift the suspension.

Self-locking differential
Type of differential that allows a slip between two axles when the resistance value that the wheels have is high. If a wheel does not offer resistance the rotational speed of the two axles is the same. These differentials can be viscous types. called Torsen. or operated through the anti-blocking system when braking the wheel that is slipping. The retard on the differential is indicated in . 0 corresponding to a normal differential and 100 to a totally blocked differential.

Self-supporting body
This is a type of body structure very typical nowadays. It acts as a chassis and substitutes it. as it is reinforced in the zones where the mechanical parts are anchored. It is also known as monocoque chassis.
