Discharge valve. This is placed in supercharged engines between the compressor element and the inlet ducts. It stops the pressure in the intake collector exceeding a certain value and so avoids any damage to the engine components. It lets a part of the admission air escape when the pressure exceeds this value. Depending on the type of engine. the valve can be set at around 0.7-0.9 bars (highpeak power). or between 0.2 and 0.5 for urbocharged engines with low pressure.
