| Wheel blocking |
|
When the brake is pressed wheel slipping can occur. the wheel loses grip on the ground. if this slip comes close to 100 wheel blocking is taking place. The rotational speed of the wheel is null while the vehicle continues moving. In this situation the capacity of lateral guidance from the tyre is null and a loss of vehicle control takes place. The tyre has to rotate again to get lateral guidance. Blocking also occurs in situations when changing down abruptly in large engines and which have a high inertia on the mobile parts. The engine does not increase revs quickly and the wheels rotate more slowly than the speed of the vehicle.
