Chemical process that it is used to break up the molecules of a substance when an electric current passes through it. This process is used in the battery of a car for recharging. The electrolyte is the liquid substance that breaks up and the electrodes are the plates that receive or give up part of the components broken down.

This is a system where the accelerator pedal sends an electrical signal to control the petrol admission in the engine. The advantage is that it can incorporate traction control or stability control.
