| Engine torque |
|
This is the capacity of an engine to carry out work. The torque indicates the force at a certain distance that can be obtained at the crankshaft. The peak torque occurs when the filling of the cylinder is optimum extracting the biggest yield from the fuel that enters the engine. With more engine torque more pulling power or force at any revs. Petrol engines have a lot of power but little engine torque and diesels have less power but a lot of engine torque. Engine torque is measured in NM (Newton/metro) or in mkg (metros/kilogramo).
