Detonation
A process where the mixture housed in the combustion chamber does not burn but rather explodes spontaneously. This takes place when the spark jumps and causes the mixture that is near the electrodes to burn. the temperature and the pressure increase in the combustion chamber makes the mixture in other parts of the chamber ignite andit could be said that it is an incorrect ignition or at the wrong time. In petrol engines it is called knocking. It is detected by a noise which is similar to a metallic knocking that takes place in the top part of the engine. This type of detonation takes place because of the following factors: excessive heating of the mixture; soot deposits in the cylinder head; use of a octane number too low; very early ignition; very high compression ratio; the gas temperature in the admission is too high.

Diagonal
Tyre structures where the canvas of the internal fabrics form an angle of 40 with respect to the tyre axis. These tyres have a higher capacity for deformation and therefore a bigger flexibility and cushioning as well as increased mobility on soft surfaces. Their inconveniences are a higher operating temperature that shortens the life of the tyre and worse stability on asphalt.

Diameter
Internal area where the piston moves. This allows the calculation of the surface area of the piston. The volume of each cylinder it is obtained multiplying the surface by the height (stroke). The diameter is measured in millimeters and is used to calculate the cylinder capacity of ane engine in cubic centimetres.
